Liam's Lucky Charms - Part 2

A little while back I wrote about Liam's Lucky Charms, well the ride was this past weekend and Liam kicked it off with a great speech.



I spoke with Tim after the first day of riding and he sounded great and was just relaxing near the water where they were all camping and watching the sunset.

















I give these riders a lot of credit for riding that long, personally I'm not sure I could ever get through it.

In the end they raised over $50,000 with 24 people, $30,000 more than what they raised last year which is incredible.

Every little bit counts so if there is a charity out there that is close to your heart, make a small donation and help out.

Baby steps to running...

Ok so last week I wrote about how I was going to start running again and I have, just not as much as I want to. Last week I have the excuse that I didn't want to run in the rain and being that it has rained about 19 days out of the month of June I would say its a pretty damn good excuse.

So last night I went on a short run around the hood, nothing crazy but it looked like the sky was going to open up at any second so I stayed close to the house. I ran 1.22 in 9.38 minutes. I still have yet to calibrate the Nike+ but I am hoping it is close to correct.

24 days till vacation
Let's see if I can run over 24 miles in 24 days.
I'm pretty sure I can do it

Billy the Kid


I spent some quality time with my little man Billy this weekend and I never stopped smiling. The kid has a personality that just brightens your day.

Was I grumpy that I was up at 7 am on the weekend?

Sure, but then I walk out of my room to see this little guy and all that changes.

Before Billy graced us with his presence this January I was known in the family for taking a lot of pictures. Now that he is here I take double the amount and your lucky if anyone else gets their picture taken. If you do make it into a picture its most likely because you are the one holding him. Check out more in the "Kid" section of my site from this weekend.

Running like Forest

So I started running again. Not Forest Gump style, more like gym class running.

It's taken a while but I feel as though I have 4 weeks to get my ass in gear before hitting the beaches of the Outer Banks. So yesterday I took to the streets of the Bronx and ran for a bit. I have not officially calibrated my Nike + so it may be a bit off. Regardless of that I want this to be a push for me to keep running. As many of my friends know, I am not a runner. I played field hockey for 9 years of my life, year round and preparing for pre season was the death of me, I hated running. Put me on the field and I will run and play my ass off, tell me to run a mile under 7 minutes and I will laugh at you. I guess I was never mentally there for running. So my goal for the next 4 weeks is to run longer distance and pick up the pace.

Baby Steps People!!!

Up!



If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend that you do so ASAP.
For my 27th birthday I decided that I wouldn't want to spend it any other way than watching Up in 3D.
What a great movie. I laughed out loud (I honestly don't remember the last time I did that at a movie) and I got a little choked up. It was great!!

It's for all ages as are most Pixar movies, some jokes kids won't understand but ones that keep the attention of adults.

Finding Nemo has always been my favorite because it is hilarious but this one is sneaking in right behind it.

Great movie!


Next on my list is "My Sister's Keeper" I read the book a few years ago and loved it.



I actually just got really choked up watching this...it could be dangerous to see this in a theater with people around.

Zack Morris is Back!!!



Mark Paul Gosselar went on Jimmy Fallon in character as his most famous role of Zack Morris last night. Could there be a Saved by the Bell Reunion???

I got an early AMAZING birthday gift from my unbelievably generous parents last night.
Don't get me wrong, every year they make our birthdays really special but this year was HUGE for me.

I opened a card from them which was unlike any other card I have ever gotten from my parents. Usually its a hallmark card saying how much of an amazing person I am (no argument there) but this year was different, it looked something like this:

A FLIGHT TO LONDON

Yup, I am heading across the pond to see my best friend Erin in September. This was amazing news for me because I have been putting it off for a while now. I have been saying that I want to go but never took the steps to actually plan the trip or should I say pay for the flight. I have been dying to get over there.
My mom simply said "You can't miss out on an opportunity to go over there"

Since I opened the card I have been thinking about it non stop, figuring out my days off, planning it out on my calendar and not to mention writing it over every social networking site I am on. I'm excited, I'm finally going.

Next is to figure out what I want to do when I am over there. If you have suggestions, send them my way.

I can only imagine the amount of pictures I will be taking.

Well my morning started off great,I was running a little late for the train (standard)so I couldn't buy my new monthly pass then I spilled my coffee before even leaving Starbucks this morning, classic move...then the coffee proceeded to spill on me the 2 block walk to work.
